Summer shutdown 2020

The project

The Folloline Project faced a planned train stop in the area of Oslo during the summer which was critical for the completion of the overall project.
Therefore Keller was contracted to install more than 4.000m of Jet grouting columns in 3 weeks. The purpose of the Jet grouting columns were to stabilize the soil for the excavation works that will be executed later.

The challenge

The main challenge in the project was to handle the big amount of backflow in such a short time frame and deliver our product in the agreed upon time frame without any delays.
The works took place directly on the alignment of the train tracks which were removed during the execution.

The solution

Keller mobilized special drilling rigs and 3 backflow treatment plants to be able to fulfil Bane NOR´s schedule. Backup equipment was also in place for all parts of the job.
25 of the most experienced and skilled grouting specialist in the company worked day and night in order to achieve the goal. Precutting of the clay was used to avoid deformations on the tunnel. Keller managed to deliver and demobilize the area 6 days ahead of schedule giving the contractor more time to re-build the tracks and deliver them back to the Client.
