The project
"E6 Ranheim – Værnes" project is consisting of 23-kilometer four-lane motorway including four new tunnels, eight bridges and three two-level intersections. Acciona Construcción (Main Contractor) has begun the first works in 2020 and the project is expected to be completed in 2025 which will significantly improve mobility in the northern part of Trøndelag county.
The challenge
- Limited working platform due to the topographical challenging site location.
- Works performed in close proximity to Homla river.
- Working in December with the temperature dropping to -20oC with limited sunlight.
The solution
- Despite limited working platform, Keller used 46t drilling rig to accommodate for drilling in high strength rock.
- Highly experienced team was responsible for drilling in challenging ground conditions including boulders, inclined bedrock surface and high ground water level.
